I had the honor of creating the promotion cake for Colonel Linwood Hilton, proud Alumni of our Alma Mater, Morgan State University. 💙🧡 Colonel Hilton was still stationed in Korea when he inquired about a cake so flexibility was important. Imagine my surprise when he was very responsive, and even locked in his payment at 2am Korea Standard Time! The moral of the story is simple: If you want it, go after it. Creating my @cydstarr1 and @hughzeau babyshower cakes/treats was such a joy! The theme was Loiseau which means “baby bird” in French. A baby bird theme can be a little tricky, but I dipped into my creativity bag and pulled out magic. There were 2 cakes: A main cake, and a feature cake. The main cake was adorned with a Princess crown and my version of a fancy bird’s nest🪺. The feature cake was decorated with flowers and literally sat inside of a vintage birdcage….oh when I pulled out that birdcage the family went wild, you couldn’t tell me NOTHING! The oreos and pretzels were also decorated with baby birds and flowers. Both Cyd and Ced loved the creativity of the cakes and treats, I was overjoyed. To be a part of this beautiful celebration for two amazing human beings was truly an honor. 🥰 #kiannaskreations #babyshowercakes #babybird

I pulled out all kinds of metallic embellishments for the cake and treats. Silver acrylics, gold and silver flakes, and gold powder. The birthday girl and guests loved everything! But the highlight of the night was the attire. Everyone showed up and showed OUT! So half of these photos are the cake/treats, and the other half are amazing outfits (well, really just me and the birthday girl lol). So…..this is happening. 🤩 A few weeks ago I decided to step out of my comfort zone and apply for The Greatest Baker competition by Buddy Valastro aka “Cake Boss”. I completed the questionnaire, submitted the required photos, and waited. Can you imagine the look on my face when I was selected?!!!! I am still beaming!!! This competition is based on daily voting, with a grand prize of $10,000 and a double-page feature spread in Bake from Scratch magazine! I. Am. Excited! As mentioned earlier, this is a voting based competition. It starts with the top 20 Bakers and narrows down every week to 1 grand winner. This is a DAILY vote y’all 😬….but you can ALSO vote from more than one email address. It’s time to reset your passwords and dust off those old Hotmail and Yahoo accounts. We got this!!! A sneakerball themed party has been on my project board for years!! I was too excited to kreate this birthday cake and treats for Miss Olivia. The flavors were snickerdoodle, red velvet, and lemon. All the details on the oreos and cakesicles were custom made with dresses, the #13, and sneakers. The best part of the party was the sip-n-paint with the various sneakers as art. Super dope!! “It’s not personal, just business.” Well this babyshower order was personal. 👣 One of my dearest friends found a love so rich and pure that they created the literal manifestation of LOVE - A baby girl. 💞 It was an absolute joy to kreate the cake and treats for Odonna and EJ's baby shower. The theme was Boho Chic in neutral colors and just a hint of blush pink. I was hooked. The cake is red velvet and lemon, custom touches to include the baby’s name and a silhouette of a Mommy really set it off. And the treats?? Oh I had a blast with the decor! Flowers, fans, feathers, footprints, and even itty bitty textured rainbows….it was 🥰. (Details are in the captions.) Now are we FREE free?? NO.
